Nashville's hotel boom

Business travelers visiting the Nashville will soon have many new choices when looking for a place to lay their heads after kicking off their cowboy boots in the country music capital.

The Tennessean says the Nashville region is experiencing a surge in hotel construction, with nearly 1,400 rooms already being built and an additional 2,100 in the planning stages. With all the additional rooms the area, supply is expected to increase by 10%, despite the slowing hotel development across the country.

Experts say Middle Tennessee has been a top destination for hotel developers because of its market dynamics, improved travel demand, and greater availability of capital. Nashville is increasingly becoming a center for business travel. Some new hotels opening are the 800-room Omni Nashville, the 344-room Drury Plaza, Home2 Suites, and Towne Place Suites.
