I'm not lazy, but let me tell you, when a hotel gives you an opportunity to be packed and out the door an hour later than usual, it makes for a much happier travel experience.
As we all know, most hotels want you out of the room by 11am so they can spruce it up for the next arriving guest by 3pm. I can get up and packed pretty quickly, but if I get a little extra more time to relax it's always a bonus.
On a recent trip to Los Angeles, I was pleasantly surprised when I called the front desk the night before my departure and asked about the check-out time. I was informed it was noon and not the normal 11am. I was ecstatic. Small victories in travel bring smiles to my face. Since my flight wasn't until 4pm that meant I got one more hour to lay in bed and watch TV instead of attempting to relax at the gate.
Sure it was only and hour, but that's one more hour of sleep or lounging I get to enjoy in my hectic travel schedule. I'm trying to keep my travel sanity, friends! I'm not sure if I will ever pick a hotel because of the late check-out time, but it sure is a nice bonus.
Love the late check-outs
