Once again, Google is making strides in the travel industry to make booking travel a little easier. This time, they are working on a hotel finder that allows users to easily find and book hotels in their destination cities.
The tool is simple: users first search for a hotel by location, enter the dates, sort by price, then sort by user review. The app then aggregates hotels based on search results from booking sites around the web like GetARoom and Priceline. The results will bring up the most popular hotels first in a predetermined geo area, but this is where it gets cool. The map function allows you to draw your own search areas then re-organize the results by that area. Once you find a hotel you like, you can add the hotel to a 'short list' or like list that sits at the top of your results. After you have made your decision on hotel, you can click the listing to get more information, including photos and book your room.
Overall, a great tool for booking rooms quickly. Google also claims to offer a 31% savings through the tool.
