Finally, after 23 extensions and House approval this past Friday, the Senate voted to approve the new FAA spending bill that is now awaiting the president's signature.

The new bill will provide the FAA with $16 billion per year for operations, construction, and modernization. The bill was halted previously due to labor issues that were resolved in January. The bill's new safety measures will include satellite-based air traffic control.
